Sugaring Appointment Reminders

1. Hydrate: hydrated skin will "let go" of hairs more easily. Dehydrated skin will hang onto hair and cause more discomfort

Drink plenty of water before and after your sugar. Half your body weight in ounces per day is a good rule of thumb!

2. Hair should be 1/8"-1/2" in length for best results prior to your appointment.  If it’s shorter, it may be harder for the sugar to get the hairs, and if the hair is longer, the sugar may tug on the skin more, causing more discomfort. If you do not have time to trim prior to your appointment, be sure to let your esthetician know so that she can add extra time to your appointment.

3. Many women are more sensitive the week before and the week during their monthly menstruation. Some may choose to plan their sugar appointment outside of these weeks.

4. In the hotter months, some prefer to ice the area to be sugared right before their  appointment, especially if they tend to get hot and/or perspire during sugaring. Icing helps the area stay cooler and this helps sugaring the area go faster and the hairs to cooperate easier in leaving the area!
